The Festival of Lithics brought the lithics community together during the global COVID-19 pandemic by hosting a series of video presentations to showcase research and ideas that people may not have been able to discuss or present during the pandemic.
The Festival consisted of pre-recorded talks of around 15 minutes, which were organised into sessions and released throughout the weekend.
There was no strict theme to presentations beyond a general focus on stone artefacts. We welcomed contributions on a range of topics, for example artefacts and sites, scientific methods, community and public archaeology, and experimental work. Presentations could be based on preliminary work, thoughts, ideas, and discourse.
